Remembering


The curtain with its intricate design :

I wonder at the mastery of the hand that made it

I almost forget, its only a concealment….


The bridge hangs with its stately posture:

Its so long, I almost mistake it to be a road.

But then I also remember, its only to take me to the other side…


I see the slender wings of the butterfly :

Colors splashed on them with so much care and thought.

It comes to my mind, not so long ago it was an ugly caterpillar.

i like the use of words... i dont know if u realised this or did it on purpose.... but look at the order in which some words in the last line of each stanza are - "forget...remember...comes to my mind"
almost as if.. its a journey to enlightenment.
i guess every creature is in that process... knowingly or unknowingly, consciously or unconsciously edging towards the creator... n each will reach that stage of understanding the oneness..
in that sense each motif of a stanza in ur poem is talking abt oneness existing inspite of the differences that makes it individualistic in its own right!
contrasts employed beautifully.
